LPT1 ports take up significant motherboard space, while newer universal interfaces like USB-C, HDMI, and Thunderbolt can handle data transfer, video output, and power delivery through a single, smaller connector. This streamlined design improves airflow and thermal management, helping devices operate reliably even under 24/7 industrial workloads.
Support for LPT1 has also faded in modern operating systems.
