As information security is increasingly valued, the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) has become one of the important technologies to ensure the security of industrial mini computers. For industrial mini computers, the application of TPM not only improves the security of the equipment but also meets the multiple needs of enterprise-level users.
1. TPM, combined with UEFI Secure Boot, can verify the integrity of the system startup process, prevent malware or unauthorized operating systems from tampering with the device, and ensure that the industrial mini computer starts a trusted software environment.
2. TPM also allows the system to generate and store encryption keys to ensure that data is protected during transmission and storage. Even if the storage medium is physically removed, attackers cannot easily decrypt the data, thereby preventing data leakage.
3. Through TPM, industrial mini computers can be integrated with encryption software such as Windows BitLocker or Linux LUKS to achieve stronger disk encryption protection. Even if the device is stolen, unauthorized users cannot access the stored data.
4. In an enterprise IT environment, TPM can be used for device authentication to ensure that only authenticated terminals can access the enterprise network and improve the security of remote management.
As a professional industrial mini computer manufacturer, OAI is well aware of the importance of device security. Although OAI industrial mini computers do not include a separate dedicated TPM chip on the motherboard by default, the software TPM (fTPM) solution integrated into the processor that we use still provides security features such as secure boot, encryption, and other trusted platform features.
