Ab Juli 19 An 24, 2025, 13 OAI team members joined a Jiangxi tour organized by Sunany Group. The journey was an eye-opening experience, broadening horizons and offering a wealth of new insights and memorable moments.
Jiangxi is renowned as a travel destination blessed with stunning landscapes and a rich tapestry of historic sites.
During the trip, OAI team explored Tengwang Pavilion, climbing its towers to take in the expansive views that vividly echoed the grandeur described by the ancient poet Wang Bo. At Lushan’s Dakou Waterfall, the team listened to the thunderous roar of cascading waters shrouded in mist. In Wuyuan, the OAI team wandered through Wunvzhou, soaking up the deep-rooted heritage of ancient Huizhou culture. The unique granite formations and dramatic peaks of Sanqing Mountain left everyone awestruck by nature’s artistry.
Jiangxi’s cuisine proved equally unforgettable.
As soon as we arrived in Nanchang, the team dove headfirst into a culinary adventure, eager to savor the city’s authentic flavors.
We started with steaming claypot rice, slowly cooked in small earthen pots so that every grain absorbed the rich sauce. Next came the classic Three-Cup Chicken—tender chicken simmered in rice wine, soy sauce, and sesame oil, rich in savory depth and so flavorful that the sauce alone begged to be mixed with rice.
A standout local specialty was “Lotus Blood Duck,” a fiery dish featuring stir-fried duck meat and duck blood, vivid red in color with an intoxicating aroma. The taste was fresh, spicy, and delightfully addictive, perfectly pairing with rice.
And of course, no visit to Nanchang would be complete without trying their signature cold rice noodles tossed in a secret spicy sauce, pickled vegetables, crushed peanuts, and scallions. The noodles were smooth and springy with a harmonious blend of heat and freshness—a beloved breakfast classic cherished by locals from childhood.
We also sampled various street snacks: crispy fried lotus root pockets, sticky-sweet glutinous rice cakes, pan-fried beef buns with a crispy exterior and tender filling, and even late-night favorites like stir-fried noodles and spicy grilled tofu skin. Each bite was a taste of the city’s lively spirit—simple yet unforgettable.
The trip came to a successful close, leaving the OAI team not only with memories of breathtaking scenery and delicious food but also renewed energy and inspiration. Fueled by the journey’s discoveries, the team is ready to tackle future challenges with even greater enthusiasm and drive.
